“We DIG the Shickluna Shipyard: Toward Re-engaging St. Catharines’ Maritime Past”
The evening will feature an illustrated talk providing an update on the latest developments in the on-going archaeological investigation of the site of the shipyard of Lewis Shickluna
From ca 1835 until ca 1890 Shickluna operated the most prolific and fabled ship yard on the Great Lakes, located on the Canal in the centre of St. Catharines.
The speaker will be Brock professor Dr. Kimberly Monk, who is running this archaeological study.
