Visualizing Space and Some Ideas of Homeownership 2006-2018 | Walker Cultural Leaders
Walker Cultural Leader Alejandro Cartagena -
Visualizing Space and Some Ideas of Homeownership 2006-2018
For the past 10 years, Cartagena has produced works that present different ways to think about the interdependence of humans and landscape in the face of Urban expansion.
In his lecture, he will address his various projects and books that delve into these issues. An avid bookmaker, he will also expand on the possibilities of how the photobook has helped him develop ways to present complex narratives through the book form.
Cartagena’s work has been exhibited internationally in more than 50 group and individual exhibitions, in spaces including the Foundation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris and the CCCB in Barcelona. His work is in the collections of several museums including the San Francisco MOMA, the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, the Portland Museum of Art, the West Collection, the Coppel collection, the FEMSA collection, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the George Eastman Museum and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
