Picturing Indians
As an enduring and popular subject for European-trained artists, depictions of First Peoples convey the world view of the colonizers. The artworks on display in this exhibition provide insight into European attitudes and perceptions of Indigenous people. The Samuel E. Weir Collection includes many such representations, and even some rare works by Indigenous artists.
Curated by Debra Antoncic
