New exhibition! John Graves & Elizabeth Simcoe: 18th century Power Couple

February 11, 2017 to February 3, 2018

William Pars’ Portrait of the Young Simcoe (1770-75) is showcased alongside watercolours by Elizabeth Simcoe in this exhibition which celebrates the 1783 Act Against Slavery.  The Act was an important step toward limiting slavery in the Canadas and is considered Simcoe’s most important achievement as Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada.
