MOVIE NIGHT BODY AND SOUL (1920) OSCAR MICHEAUX

This concert will be presented Live only, and is a co-production with the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. We continue our fascinating journey with improvised live music accompanying silent films. BODY AND SOUL (1920), written/directed by Oscar Micheaux (1884-1951). One of 3 surviving and restored silent feature films of this prolific, pioneering African American filmmaker (he produced over 40 feature films from 1919-1947). Staring Paul Robson (his first screen role) playing twin brothers: main twin is an escaped prisoner/con artist who passes himself off as a preacher in Georgia.
