Flower Painting @ The Niagara Pumphouse

Spring has sprung so let’s plant our easels near the garden and put the tulips, lilies and daffodils on canvas. You will learn the steps to drawing and painting local flowers and gardens: drawing, underpainting, colour mixing, brush stroke technique and composition. This workshop includes a demonstration with a description of the basics understanding of the flower and how to put colour to canvas followed by studio time for students to create their own work. Beautiful still life reference will be in the studio plus several choices of references are available to create an interesting variety while allowing students to understand fundamentals, yet, still paint in their own style. If weather permits, we will also venture into the garden outdoors.
