Family History Workshop | St. Catharines Museum

Dig deeper into your family history and learn how to care for your own family collections in this in-depth two-day workshop.

Join us on Saturday February 8 and Saturday, February 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for this engaging, hands-on workshop on all things family history. Trained Museum Staff will offer specific resources, tools, and knowledge that you can utilize to organize, preserve, and share your personal family history for future generations. Topics covered include the following:

-Photograph care and storage
-Family record care and storage (newspaper clippings, letters, other papers etc.)
-Family heirloom care and storage
-Conducting research projects
-Conducting and recording oral histories and written histories
-Genealogical research

New this year, the Mayholme Genealogical and Historical Research Centre will lead a tutorial on genealogical research.

This two-day workshop is $50.00 per person and pre-registration is required. Included in the fee is a workbook and other take-home resources, and light refreshments.

Participants are asked to bring a box of family records or photographs to work with during the workshop.
