Brock Talks | Three Ways of Reading “Fables”
Bill Willingham’s “Fables” comic book series was published between 2002 and 2015, consisting of 150 issues. In the series, popular characters from fairy tales have escaped their homelands and are living in modern-day New York. Dr. Neta Gordon, Department of English Language and Literature, will consider how to read the text as an adaptation of fairy tales, as a political allegory about post-9/11 America, and as a meditation on magic and storytelling.
