Opera During the Pandemic | Brock Talks | St. Catharines Library
One of the industries hardest hit by COVID-19 is the performing arts, particularly genres like opera, which has traditionally involved dozens of performers and artisans presenting shows for hundreds of people per night. In this talk, Professor Nina Penner, Department of Music, will discuss what local opera companies (e.g., the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Atelier, Against the Grain Theatre) are doing to keep the art form alive and speculate about the future of opera in Canada.
