cNiagara is designed to benefit arts and heritage organizations in Niagara and provide easy access to information for residents and visitors to the Niagara region.
cNiagara is a joint initiative emerging from a public-private sector partnership that began in 2010. The idea has been envisioned by many Niagara cultural enthusiasts. The dream became a reality on October 16, 2012.
cNiagara was developed through the “Marketing the Arts of St. Catharines-Niagara” project. This project was managed by a partnership of: Carousel Players; the Centre for the Arts at Brock University; and the City of St. Catharines. Financial support came from the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Cultural Capitals of Canada program, the Province of Ontario's Cultural Strategic Investment Fund, the Region of Niagara and the City of St. Catharines. Support and advice has come from many quarters, including staff from the future St. Catharines Performing Arts Centre and the Niagara Region.
cNiagara.ca is currently run by members of the original Marketing the Arts of St. Catharines partnership. We are invested in working with the community to nurture and promote the cultural energies of Niagara, as part of a healthy and creative community.
